As a scholar with an interdisciplinary background in American Studies, African American Studies, Latin American Studies and Latinx Studies, I have long developed an interest in popular culture starting with hip hop and street literature and later leading to writings on comic books and television. At the same time, my last six years teaching Latinx Literature at Lehman College has inspired me to enter more into literary studies, leading to new interdisciplinary projects and approaches. Currently I am working on a scholarly manuscript combining undocupoetics with film, theater, memoir admits political, legal and historical backdrop in immigration studies.
